Why it matters

Good design is not decoration.

Good design is not decoration. It is the difference between a business that looks like a safe pair of hands and one that looks like a gamble, and that judgement is made in seconds, long before anyone reads a word of your copy. Crushed Ice provides graphic design and branding: logo design and brand identity, brand guidelines, web and user interface design, print and marketing collateral, packaging artwork, and social and campaign graphics. Most work is a one-off project at a fixed price agreed up front, so you know exactly what it costs before we start. Everything is produced in the formats you actually need, supplied as editable source files you own outright, and made by designers who sit with our developers, so what gets designed can genuinely be built.

What our design service covers

From a single logo to a complete brand system.

Every discipline below is handled in-house, so the identity holds together wherever it ends up.

  1. 01

    Logo Design & Brand Identity

Logo design and full identity work: colour palettes, typography, imagery, iconography, and the visual language that ties it all together. We explore genuinely different routes before refining, so you choose from real alternatives rather than variations on one idea.

  2. 02

    Brand Guidelines

A practical brand manual covering logo clear space and variations, colour values for print and screen, typefaces and hierarchy, and imagery style, with templates your team can follow without asking us every time.

  3. 03

    Web & UI Design

Website and application interface design, including wireframes, responsive layouts, and interactive prototypes. Nothing is handed over that our engineers cannot implement properly.

  4. 04

    Print & Marketing Collateral

Brochures, leaflets, business cards, exhibition stands, stationery, and advertising. Artwork is supplied print-ready, with the correct bleed, colour space, and resolution for your printer.

  5. 05

    Packaging & Product Artwork

Label, carton, and sleeve design including dielines, barcode placement, and regulatory panel layout. We work to your packaging supplier's specification so the technical details are right first time.

  6. 06

    Social & Campaign Graphics

Graphics for social media, paid advertising, email campaigns, and display banners. Supplied in the sizes and formats each platform requires, and consistent with your brand every time.

  7. 07

    Image Editing & Retouching

Photo retouching, background removal, colour correction, and image optimisation for print and web. We can also source or direct photography that supports your brand rather than undermining it.

  8. 08

    Templates & Document Design

Presentation decks, proposal templates, report layouts, letterheads, and invoices. Designed templates mean everything leaving your business looks consistent, whoever produced it.

How we work

Designed by people, not prompted.

Look at five websites in your own sector and you will see the same pictures: the same glossy 3D objects, the same over-polished illustrations, the same purple gradients, the same meeting-room photography. Most of it is generated now, often from the same few tools with the same few prompts, and customers have started to notice. When every business in a market looks alike, none of them stands out, and looking like all of your competitors is a strange thing to pay for.

So the work here is still drawn by people. You deal with the designer doing the work rather than a middle layer, your sector gets researched before anything is put on screen, and genuinely different routes are explored rather than variations on one idea. Type, colour and imagery are chosen by someone who can explain the reasoning, and checked in the places the design will actually be seen: a shopfront, a van, a product label, a phone screen.

Talk to a designer

What that means in practice

  • You deal directly with the designer working on your project.
  • We look at what your competitors are already using, so your identity does not simply join the pile.
  • Several genuinely different routes, explored before anything is refined.
  • Illustration, iconography and graphics drawn for your business rather than generated.
  • Colour and type checked in print, with artwork prepared to your printer's, signwriter's or packaging supplier's specification.

We are not against the tools, and we are not precious about how work gets made. We are against the sameness.

How a design project runs

  1. Brief & Discovery

We start with a conversation rather than a form. What the business does, who it sells to, what competitors look like, and where the current design is falling short. We agree what success looks like and exactly what you need at the end of it, whether that is a single logo file or a complete brand system.

  2. Concepts

We present a small number of genuinely distinct design routes, each with the thinking behind it, applied to something real such as a business card, a website header, or a product label. Seeing a direction in context is far more useful than choosing between abstract marks.

  3. Refinement

We develop the chosen route: typography, colour, spacing, and how the identity behaves across different formats. This is the stage where a decent logo becomes a usable brand, and we expect a couple of rounds of changes here.

  4. Rollout & Assets

We apply the identity to everything you need: stationery, website, signage, social profiles, print templates, and packaging. You receive print-ready artwork, web-optimised files, and editable source files with full ownership.

  5. Ongoing Support, If You Want It

Most design work is a one-off project. Once the files are with you, the job is done and there is nothing further to pay. Many clients come back when they need something new, which is simply quoted the same way again. If you produce design material regularly and would rather not quote each small job individually, we can put an optional monthly arrangement in place instead.

What you receive

Fixed-price design projects

Design work is usually a one-off project. We agree the scope and give you a fixed price before anything starts, and you own the finished designs and source files outright. There is no ongoing commitment. If you produce design material regularly and would rather not quote each job individually, we can put an optional monthly arrangement in place instead, cancellable with 30 days notice.

  • Vector logo files (SVG, EPS, PDF)
  • Print-ready PDF/X artwork with bleed and crop marks
  • Web-optimised PNG, WebP and SVG exports
  • Editable source files
  • Brand guidelines document
  • Colour values for print (CMYK, Pantone) and screen (RGB, hex)
  • Typeface recommendations and hierarchy
  • Templates for Word, PowerPoint and Google Workspace
  • Social media size sets for every platform
  • Full commercial ownership, no licence fees

Design projects we work on

The kinds of problems we are asked to solve.

Case 01

New Business Launch

The brief

A newly formed company had a name and a domain but nothing else. Their only visual material was a stock template logo and a home-made leaflet, which badly undersold the calibre of the work they did.

What we did

Crushed Ice produced a complete identity: logo, colour and type system, brand guidelines, stationery, van livery, and a website design. They launched looking like a company many times their size.

Case 02

Rebrand Without Losing Recognition

The brief

A long-established trade business had a logo drawn decades earlier, now existing only as a low-resolution JPEG. It looked dated online and could not be reproduced cleanly in print.

What we did

We redrew the identity as clean vector artwork, kept the elements customers recognised, and modernised the typography and colour. Signage, invoices, workwear, and the website now share one consistent brand.

Case 03

Design That Matches the Software

The brief

A client had commissioned a bespoke management system from our development team, but the interface had grown organically and no longer matched their brand or their customers' expectations.

What we did

Our designers reworked the interface: layout, typography, colour, iconography, and error states. Because design and development sit in the same team, the changes went into the live system rather than being handed over as mockups nobody could build.

Case 04

Marketing That Stops Being Ad Hoc

The brief

A marketing team was producing social graphics, adverts, and event materials one at a time, with no templates and no consistency. Every asset looked like it came from a different company.

What we did

Crushed Ice delivered a brand toolkit and a set of editable templates for social, print, and presentations, plus guidance on imagery and tone. Their output now looks deliberately coherent and takes far less time to produce.

Why Crushed Ice

A design studio inside a technology company.

Designers who sit with developers

Our designers and engineers are one team. A layout that is approved is a layout that can be built, and a website or application design goes straight into production rather than being handed to a third party to interpret.

A fixed price, agreed first

Every project is scoped and quoted before work begins. No hourly meters, no surprise invoices for revisions that were always going to be needed, and a clear answer when you ask what it will cost.

You own every file

Finished designs and their editable source files are yours outright, with full commercial rights. Nothing is held back and nothing is licensed. If you ever move on, you take everything with you.

Graphic design for Buckinghamshire businesses

Crushed Ice works with businesses across Buckinghamshire on logo design, brand identity, print, packaging and digital design. Briefs are taken in person or over a call, concepts are reviewed together, and finished artwork is supplied in whatever formats your printers, signwriters and web team need.

Because our designers work alongside our web and software developers, a Buckinghamshire business can have its identity, website and internal systems designed by one team, rather than stitching together the output of several suppliers who have never spoken to each other.

Questions

Graphic design: common questions

Design work is usually a one-off project, priced on scope with a fixed quote agreed before anything starts, so there are no open-ended hourly bills. A single logo, a set of leaflets, or a complete brand identity are each quoted individually and clearly. You will always have a firm figure before we begin.

No. Most of our design work is one-off and quoted as a fixed project price, with no ongoing commitment and no contract. A monthly arrangement is available if you regularly need design work and would prefer not to quote each small job individually, but it is entirely optional and can be ended with 30 days notice.

Yes. You own the finished designs and we provide the editable source files with full commercial rights. There is no licence fee, no restriction on who else can work with the artwork, and nothing withheld if you ever decide to take the work elsewhere.

A straightforward logo design typically takes two to three weeks from brief to final files. A full brand identity, covering guidelines, stationery, and rollout across several formats, usually runs six to eight weeks. If you have a hard deadline such as an exhibition or product launch, tell us at the start and we will plan backwards from it.

Absolutely, and often that is the right answer. We regularly extend existing identities, tidy up artwork that was never properly produced, and apply a brand consistently across new materials without a full rebrand. If the identity genuinely is holding you back we will say so, but we will not push a rebrand you do not need.

All of it. Logo design and brand identity, brand guidelines, web and user interface design, print and marketing collateral, packaging artwork, social and campaign graphics, and document templates. Because we also build websites and software, the design you approve is design that can actually be built.

Yes. We supply print-ready PDFs with correct bleed, crop marks, and colour profiles, and we can liaise directly with your printer on technical questions. If you already have a printer or packaging supplier, we work to their specification rather than making assumptions.
